It was a thrilling experience for me to hostess my one person exhibit at the American Quilter's Society show in Chattanooga. Everyone was so complimentary and I smiled all four days and said a million Thank yous. The 25 quilts chosen for the space included some 'classics' and some pieces that have never been shown in public. The lighting was great for viewing, but not necessarily for photos. Some pictures had a yellow cast, so I am including photos here of quilts in the exhibit that were copied from better shots in my library. These can all be viewed larger in the pages at the top of the blog.
The show was very well attended and there were spectacular quilts on display. Included in the winners was my friend Mary Keasler who had two First Place awards for My Lantana and Through the Cracks.
I sat at a table and answered questions and demonstrated fusing which of course was a mystery to so many.
I had small works for sale and sold quite a few, and then turned around and spent my profits on the vendors. I couldn't help myself!

ReplyDeleteI LOVED seeing you and your quilts at AQS Chattanooga! I might have been the first one on Wed morning to ask you about giving a program at my guild in Acworth, GA. It's on the way to IKEA! LOL! Your quilts were so amazing and inspirational Melody. Thank you for sharing them.

I'm glad the show was so successful Melody. It was great to see so many of my favourites again! I wish I could have seen it in person, but half a would away is just too far to travel! I miss hearing about the dawgs and your gardening exploits too. I hope all is thriving and Dave is well?

Your show was lovely and it's always wonderful to see quilts in person, even though your photos are great. I think the first quilt of yours that I saw was the Summer one, with all the flowers. I remember being bowled over by it... The show was a good one and my husband and I really enjoyed Chattanooga - glad they're doing it next year. Take care and thanks! ;-D
