Bosna #6
Machine pieced cotton top, 60x68"
Veering far from my usual palette, I went for the more unusual in terms of low contrast and what I like to call "colors that have no name". My hand dyed cotton sateen was the initial fabric choice and then a second one was employed with hints of aqua as well as that drab gray green color.
My personal challenge was to find a way to make these quiet colors interesting, yet still minimal.
WOW, I like those colours! Beautiful!
ReplyDeletelove these colors...so calming!
ReplyDeleteMelody, I have been a fan and follower of yours for quite some time now. I admire you very much; with all your tenacity and sticktuitiveness and great art ability. I hesitated before posting this; but I must say I don't think this new Bosna art is you. Your style and designs and the way you create is much better than this style. It is alright to try something new, but this is not your best work. Your best work is your own style and compositions, and I love it. Carol
ReplyDeleteAnd I think you have succeeded marvelously! Very pleasant and calming.
ReplyDeleteYou NAILED it, Melody! From 'no name' colours you've made something that's calm, but ha a pizzaz!
ReplyDeleteWow Melody, you're out of your comfort zone, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love these experiments with color and simplicity. Looking back over your last few posts, I am amazed at how you never seem to slow down or tire in producing oodles of gorgeous art and clothing. You need one more website where you sell those energy pills and creative juices you MUST be consuming!
