Merry After Christmas

I hope y'all had a GREAT CHRISTMAS and are as relieved as I am that it is all over. My prescription for next year: better planning. I had a few kitchen disasters which I will not repeat and allowed Grumpy Mel into the fray, but then, it all turned out just great. Did I take any pictures? Not one. So onward and upward.
Turns out that playing with beads, making them and stringing them is good therapy. I made that rolled bead necklace per request and got it out on Christmas eve. Phew!

Here's a few pieces that got made over the last couple of days.

I need a white necklace, so I focused on making white beads. Several are in the works.

Bead Obsessed

I've gone completely off the deep end. I got up at 2:30am and played with clay for an hour because I couldn't wait to try out stuff. These first two pics are of Natasha beads, kinda like a kaleidoscope, made from scrap clay. Nothing is wasted! Yay, I likey.
The colors here are icky, but the images are nice, so maybe I can use them. Who cares? it was scraps after all. I baked these with the jump rings embedded, so they are ready to string.
I'm lovin' these closed knot beads. I used the leftover clay to make the long tube beads to match.

Petal beads, which I will be making in more colors.
And I had a coupon, 50% off, so I got an extruder with 18 discs. Perfect tubes!

Knitting Again and New Beads

Libby's Vest. At last I can post this vest, which got waylaid weeks ago when other stuff distracted me. All I had to do was add the last button and bury the yarn ends, and that took one evening. So sorry for the delay Libby.
The internet is full of great tutorials and I am taking advantage of all there is to learn. Rolled beads, just like my paper ones, only this time in polyclay.

I'm keeping a few (wild) things for myself. But will continue to offer new designs here, asap.

My sister exclaimed, " Mardi Gras" when she saw this piece. The dangling spirals wiggle with every move.

And more red white and black for my ever more black and white ensembles.
A great big thank you for everyone who bought my initial necklace offerings. I am so encouraged!

A Little Kitsch

Living proof that just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Here is my white elephant gift for our Knit Wits Christmas party today.
Inside is a glass holder with a vanilla votive candle, thus declaring you wouldn't want to drink out of this mug. The theme here is peppermint and mittens, and on the cap, beaded donuts. All polymer clay.
