Aquablocks

After my last quilt top, I had a bunch of pretty scraps leftover and decided to just piece some together for a few minutes.  Following up with some larger strips of blues and then bigger and chunkier parts and soon I had a big blue center. Whoa! This is so fun!

Aquablocks.
Hand dyed and commercial cottons, machine pieced, unquilted.

I still have lots more scraps in that pile, so I am excited to try this again. I love the eensie weensie pieces against the wide expanse of larger areas.

Chummy snores on his cushion...Good doggie.

  1. Beautiful. I'm working on a similar idea of tiny pieces with large background currently as well.

  3. LOVELY! The use of colors and the contrast between large and small pieces really speaks to me. Glad you are having so much fun!
