Cross Grid

Cross Grid
Hand dyed and commercial cottons, machine pieced, 46" square. Unquilted. In the stash were 16 large blocks which didn't seem to have any design to them, so I cut them into fours and arranged them on the wall. Not a design, yet. So adding a sashing strip with a centered cross shape helped. And then another layer of sashing with red crosses made it work for me. Funny how that one light yellow cross shape just commands attention.

  2. Looks more like a painting than a quilt top in those colors and fabrics. Beautiful!

  3. Hi Melody,
Just love the Cross Grid top. I usually don't post to blogs, but this quilt really peaked my interest.
    Thanks for posting.
