The sleeves were gathered and a band added for the finish.
Curved pockets were caught by the side seams and top stitched on the curves.
The fabric is a slub textured cotton. Mother of pearl buttons.
Once again, a very simple, easy fit, to wear as a shirt or topper.
My Gudrun inspiration, in multiple fabrics.
I am loving your shirt modifications! they look great...
ReplyDeletePerfect!
ReplyDeleteI love watching your mind work as your designs evolve. I really like the modifications you made from the first iteration of this top. Judith P.
ReplyDeleteThat is the perfect painter's smock; it looks comfortable and i love your modifications.
ReplyDeleteThe pockets are to die for. (And so is the color!)
ReplyDeletePerfect rendition and I,love the choice of fabric! Funny because raising the neckline is the one thing that I wanted to do when I looked at this pattern...now I guess that I better go ahead and buy the pattern too! Thanks! I am so pleased to see that someone else loves making and wearing tops. After reading some interesting books about the villains of "fast fashion" I decided that making tops in fabrics that I love was the least little Ingrid that I could do to make my own little ripple in the big, big, pond....
ReplyDeleteOops ....my mistake. I thought that I had seen a similar sewing pattern, but that I have looked for it again I see that I must have imagined it....yikes!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great and I love the colour. How do you get the fit so acurate? Do you have a dress form to help?
ReplyDeleteI would love to make this for my mom! Color, fabric, everything! And thanks for turning me on to Gudrun!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so comfy! The older I get, the less I like anything that clings. It looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so smart, and comfortable. You're so clever Melody
ReplyDeleteLove that!
