Christmas Eve

The older I get the less fuss I make for Christmas. Yesterday I finally got around to making cookies, Cherry Almond biscotti and my oatmeal cookies with everything in them, often called Kitchen Sink. I drank Pinot Grigio while I baked and that made it really fun. I think.
My sister and niece will be here for Christmas day dinner and we are having Ravioli Lasagna with meatballs and sausage. It is already to bake in my refrigerator, a day ahead.
Earlier Friday I decided to commit to piecing for the foreseeable future and that meant bringing my fabric out of the laundry room and into the studio. I was surprised that I had enough space for the bookcases. And I turned my work table 90 degrees and that makes it work even better. The best change is the newly hung design wall. This time I used Command picture hanging strips instead of hooks. It hangs REALLY flat against the wall.Command Large Picture Hanging Strips, White, 4 Sets of Strips, 17206WM

The kitchen is all cleaned up and so is the studio...and now I can relax and knit. yay!

  3. Happy Christmas Melody, and to Dave too. Owing to the perilous state of the world, I'm wishing everyone - May 2017 be "without incident", and bring fulfilment and peace to you and yours. Thank you for your inspiration, like others, I follow your blog with much enjoyment.

  4. Merry Christmas Melody. I always enjoy your lavish use of color. My design wall is up with those snapping picture frame 3Ms as well. And I use them to hang quilts on walls too.

  7. As my husband and I get older (76 & 70) we have made Christmas simpler each year. There are no grandchildren so no gift buying for us. My step-daughter (who is 42 and her husband is 50..no children) told me that I "killed Christmas" this year because we said we would not buy gifts but we would have Christmas dinner. It hurt my feelings but I just don't feel that when you're 50 years old you need to give them gifts like they are children. She says I spoiled Christmas.

Hope you have a more pleasant day with family.
