Princess Seamed Shirt
It took a little longer than one day to make this shirt as events around the house took precedence and I didn't get into the studio until 4 pm. All is quiet here now, as the smoke alarm drama is over. Sigh, what a relief.
The princess seams were a snap but the set in sleeves took a lot more time and pins to get smooth. The band collar was a pain, but it ended up looking fine.
I went to visit my sister at her store and she took these pics of me, standing in front of the Kaffe Fassett fabrics.
It fits much closer than most of the clothes I have been making but I still prefer how it looks on the mannequin, whose dimensions are a lot smaller than mine.
Can someone remind me to stand up straight when I get photographed? O well.

Please stand up straight when you get photographed. ;-). I wish I worked as fast as you. Where did you get your manequin?
ReplyDeleteReally cute!

The closer fit is very flattering!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posing on yourself ;-) Great work, can't believe all what you can do so well.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous shirt! Well done!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Kaffe! Just love those prints. I know what you mean about thinking about the pose when we're being photographed. Still, a good shot. And I agree that the closer fit is very flattering. Do you get that idea in your head, like I do, that loose and baggy things hide what we don't want people to see on our bodies? Ha! If it were only so.
ReplyDeleteIt makes you youthful and you have a lot of energy!
ReplyDeleteIt looks really nice on you-that is a flattering fit!
ReplyDeleteGood job!! That is a nice shape for you and the colors are great!
ReplyDeleteQuerida, it looks fantastic! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI beg to disagree, Melody! It looks way better on you than on the mannequin ... It fits you beautifully. You've done a great job on the collar too. I find those collars particularly difficult - they look so silly if they're too big or if the neckline is cut too high or too low. It's perfect, and the colours look terrific too. Altogether a 100% success. You're amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely and you look fabulous
ReplyDeleteWow, that was fast! It looks great!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! You are my idol! And I love the fabrics... will have to do some research on them! As for standing up straight, yeah... I need to remember that too, thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteBlouse is a winner, and you look adorable !
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see Kaffe fabrics being used for garments...how lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh I love this Melody - beautiful KF fabrics - a winner. You do match beautifully with the fabric bolts!
