So Grateful

Dearest Friends,
I am overwhelmed with your kindness, support and understanding. THANK you each and everyone  for your well wishes and prayers on our behalf. One day at a time and this day is a good one. Yesterday we worked together to clean the house and rearrange furniture, so we could hang out in the sun room. Tv's got moved and had to be reconfigured all over again, my job, and we are ready to put our feet up and zone  out to Midsommer Murders.

Remember when the new fall tv season was anticipated, and new school clothes got purchased? Perhaps that is our mood-memory which giving us the energy to go up and down stairs, searching for which remote works this tv and trying to fix the Wi-Fi on the now defunct DVD player. It all got going eventually.

My landscaper returned Thursday  and cleaned up the weed and bamboo mess and I harvested more jalapenos, tomatoes and two butternut squashes. I grew lots of sage to brown-butter sauce the whipped squash.
Ahhh, Autumn. 'Course it's still 90 degees...But looks like rain too, so we hope.

I will knit today and rest up to tackle the big studio mess, my labor day duty. Piles on top of piles. But curtains need to be made (gingham tablecloth fabric in red and white) and something quilty beckons . Mostly I need the bare table to block the latest knit. I'm getting a jump on gusty winds and cold weather.
Have a great holiday weekend and thank you again for your love and encouragement. It feels great not to be hiding anything anymore.

  1. Thankful that today was a "good" day. You sure did more than I did. In my youth Labor Day was a street picnic The twelve families with kids at our end of the street. It was the last grilled hamburger until the end of May.... it was the third time in the year we got to have potato chips. My mom never bought them so we would eat them at the summer picnics. Memorial Day - 4th of July - and Labor Day. The pop in a tub was also a summer treat..... then there was the "down" side. When we went inside this night... summer was truly over as school started the next morning....

  2. Oh, Mel! I am just catching up with you. So sorry that the disease has progressed to this. I had dear friend here whose husband went through this so I am familiar with what you are going through. Sending hugs and prayers. Love you!

  4. thank you so much for your previous post. wanted to write but your words hit too close to home. we're not as bad at our house yet. maybe in the old days when people didn't live long enough to have this happen was a blessing in disguise.

  5. Good morning Mel, I just want to say you are both, especially you, in my thoughts in these difficult times. Do you have anyone who can " spell" you?
    Are you getting rest?

  9. I'm just catching up with you as I've been MIA with renos for my new studio and new long arm. I'm sorry to hear Dave is suffering from delusions, can't imagine how scary and frustrating this must be for you both. Sending hugs and understanding. Why is there so much Parkinsons around?!!
