Well, there you have it. C'est fini. Merino, Silk and wools of various colors. It's a combination of all my fave stitch patterns, slip stitches and mitered diamonds, and I have learned to love M1R and M1L for the center increases.
It rained (finally!) most of Sunday and that made it so cozy to knit and binge watch Professor T on PBS Passport. Feet up and a mystery to think through. Last week I binged GOLD on Masterpiece Mystery. Sooooo good. But I really love the characters and plots on Professor T. Now that I have run out of old Law and Order reruns, and caught up with Shetland episodes, I am so happy to have found another detective program to engage the old gray cells. Of course I love the Marlow Murder Club and Maigret, and especially Unforgotten, and I ask myself, why are all the really good mysteries British? Do we dumb down mysteries here in America?
I do plan to make a pretty polymer clay pin to coordinate with this new shawl. I found a source and I won't be running short on shawl pins for a long time to come. This shawl is available for $60 plus shipping. Email me.
How beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love Professor T, both the British and the original. The original I have to actually watch intently to read the subtitles but it is worth it. If you didn't catch Endeavour, that is on Passport as well as Grantchester. I have Gold and Maigret on my list but haven't watched them yet. A few other Passport favorites are Van der Walk, Magpie Murders/ Moonflower Murders, Broadchurch and the Brokenwood Mysteries. I actually saw Brokenwood first on AcornTV along with a few PBS doesn't have like Murdoch Mysteries, Murder at Evensong and Midsomer Murders. Britbox has some of the past series if you need to catch up like DCI Banks, Inspector Morse or Lewis. They also have Father Brown and Sister Boniface. Britbox has an orignal I am enjoying called Ludwig. They also have the Paradise franchise and two of the Bletchley Circle which I am going to rewatch.
ReplyDeleteI think Britain has a history with drawing room mysteries starting in the theater. That and their system of television with usually only 10 episodes per "season" and only one season a year means a lot more shows and a lot more variety. Plus, as you say, American TV tends to be dumbed down, usually to cut costs, hence the plethora of bad reality shows. Once A.I. gets going it is going to be truly awful.
